The Boston Marathon

The Boston Marathon Bombings

Upon rolling over and checking the time on my phone, I'm furious to find out that I overslept on one of the busiest days of the year. Anger quickly turns to shame, shame to self-loathing, and self-loathing to depression. I might as well check these messages and have a peek at Facebook while I wallow in my sorrow...

"Oh my god! Someone got shot at MIT!"
My head whips around,"What?!"
"Our campus security sends us alerts! They said someone got shot at MIT!"
Shaking my head, I suggest,"You guys might wanna pick another bar....."

The Boston Marathon has been a yearly tradition since 1897. During this past years tragedy, even though they crossed the finish line, many kept running to donate blood. After 26.2 miles, some even turned right back around and willingly ran into the face of danger. The City of Boston and the surrounding suburbs learned that they can enforce martial law, even without a play-off game going on. The nation learned that even Bostonians will compliantly remain in their homes after such events -- if asked. The world learned that even Bostonians will cooperate with law enforcement -- long enough to hunt your ass down.

I even heard that next years race will be bigger.....

**"According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 510 drivers were murdered on the job between 1992-98. Taxi drivers are also victim to more violent assaults (184 per 1,000 workers) than any other occupation with the exception of police (306 per 1,000) and private security guards (218 per 1,000)." 1. Interesting post.

I like the timeline stuff with actual thought. Very creative and intense. I wish it went on longer, though, as things unfolded. It's too short, and I didn't get a greater sense of what was going to happen next. Keep it going!

I think you answered the first part of the instructions, but questions 2 and 3 were not clearly answered. I see how you infused some of it in the final paragraph. Try to separate these two answers into their own, clearly intended paragraphs. That way, it'd be more clear, and less sleuthing on the reader's part.

It's a good post - very creative - but I think it just needs to be longer. As the reader, I'm left wanting more.
